I believe feeball's point was that Infinity spent their entire advertising budget promoting David Lee Roth's show.
They actually went over budget on Roth, Rover, and Carolla. It's not just a local Pittsburgh thing, but a company-wide issue. I remember seeing commercials hyping David Lee Roth's Morning Show being aired during newscasts, sporting events, and other dayparts throughout the week in which a station had an enormous amount of viewers (like during Oprah for example). This advertising does not come cheap and ended up costing CBS Radio a tremendous sum of money regardless of whether the advertising was placed on a CBS owned station (KDKA) or another station (WNBC in New York).
This ended with CBS Radio rethinking their advertising strategy. Exactly how much advertising has CBS Radio even done for Opie and Anthony? Like Realist said once before if he never went to the boards, he would have never known they were even on air in Pittsburgh. Their advertising money was almost none in comparison to what was spent for Roth, Rover and Carolla. They took a hit and decided that they would never spend that kind of money anytime in the future.
