Watch for Salem to complete acquisition of 102.5 and take it conservative talk. Not sure of the timeline, but it's going to happen.

What makes you think it's going to happen any time soon? It's been very quite lately. People aren't
talking about this anymore, at last not out in public.

Yes, when Salem takes over, I believe they will go conservative talk.

Let's just say my crystal ball is very clear on this one. ;) But to reiterate, I said I'm not sure of the timeline.

Well.. this really stuck out from The Other Paper Article...

"WWCD's general manager Randy Malloy was tight-lipped about the matter.

"It's an ongoing contractual dispute, that's all I can say," he told The Other Paper Tuesday."

LEADS me to believe we'll see Salem sooner than later on 102.5.

Can't wait to see the article in the Columbus Dispatch! They say they have a couple of reporters working on the story.

Been a week now and I don't think they've had anything. (The internet makes it so easy to check for such things that it's almost criminal. :)) I was wondering if maybe your contact was talking about the story that jakej just posted from the Other Paper, but I don't think the Dispatch has taken over the OP's operations yet.

what stuck out to me, was the comment that the other paper could not get a copy of the LMA agreement.

IT's a public file document, so anyone can get a copy. The financial figures can be blocked out, but that's it!

so, anyone, for any reason, should be able to walk into CD101, or Southwestern, and get a copy.

Now, The Columbus Dispatch said they won't do a story on this "until it happens". Maybe nobody is talking and this isn't in court
yet. They would just be reporting on internet rumors??...

Also, the Dispatch took over the Weekly's a few weeks ago but not sure about OPs.

What would the chances be of a December 1st switch with Christmas music?

I could see Salem stunting with Christmas and launching "FMTalk102.5 or Fish 102.5" after Christmas! Christmas is always a great PPM Boost ..

Good point, but I honestly think that this is a Fish 102.5. Wouldn't make sense for a talk station. The $$$ in radio is music and "FMTalk102.5" is pretty generic sounding.

The Dispatch said they were looking into doing a story on this but the parties involved aren't talking. So, as far as they are concerned, this is just rumor at this point. This doesn't explain why the parties aren't commenting on this but the Dispatch can't
write a story based on internet rumors. This would be poor Journalism for them to do so. The Dispatch has higher standards then
The Other Paper.

Interesting that the two parties are not talking. But, another thought: all of this hub-bub is based on two domain registrations. That is all. So, this may not even go down until next year if at all!

More than likely, if there is legal action going on over breaking the LMA, im sure the lawyers have told everyone to keep quiet while its being worked out, Its really hard to negotiate anything when you have too many people involved.

The Other Paper still has its management in place but not sure if the Dispatch owns The Other Paper.

Dose anyone have an update on this? All the parties involved in this have no comment, except for CD101 and they're saying very little about their situation. When this dispute lands in court, will it then be public knowledge? Do we have to wait until this is a done deal and Salem Media of Ohio is actually on the frequency?

What frequency(If any) will CD101 land on after they are kicked off of 102.5?

A reliable source has re-confirmed that 102.5 is indeed going to Salem, and that the expected format is conservative talk.

Looks like CD101's days are uh well numbered... Soon they will be saying "CD101 NOT @ 102.5"

Looks like the website is still a work in progress.. no schedule yet .. and the Webstream while has WWCD in the URL links to a KLFE Freedom 1590 Seattle.. Looks like Salem's webmasters are using the template for the Seattle station for this new launch in Columbus :)

I think Salem Media is for real. This will happen because I don't see them playing games with web site registrations.
Some people will write off these web site registrations and take them with a grain of salt but I don't with Salem Media.

Well it makes sense they would go Conservative talk. It dose not make sense for them to program their new station with the Fish format and it appears they won't at this time:

http://1025thefish.com/

I wonder if they will make an offer to Bob Conners to do mornings on the new FM Talk 102.5?

Speaking of WTVN AM, it appears FM Talk 102.5 will beat WTVN by getting on the FM band first. I wonder what CC Columbus will do about the new FM Talk 102.5? The new WTVN-FM soon?

I wonder if WWCD had some inkling from the time they sold 101.1 that they could conceivably be forced off (or choose to leave) 102.5 at some point, and with that in mind didn't want to commit to a re-branding to "CD102.5" Just speculation on a possible alternate motivation besides (or in addition to) wanting to hold onto the "101" equity.

Maybe so.. at this point though they have very few choices for movement.. They could make an offer to 101.7 .. but I dont see them selling ? 103.1 is an LMA or purchase option (maybe?) but signal won't reach the core CD101 areas... I want to feel bad for them but they 'gambled' by selling 101.1 Mhz without having a license to call their own. Looks like this one is coming back to bite them.
