CD101 fm Don't believe everything you see on the internet.
CD101 fm As has been previously stated by our General Manager, Randy Malloy, we are currently in contract negotiations. As with any negotiation, we cannot comment publicly until all the details are resolved. As soon as we have more information we will make it public as quickly as we can.

The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated - Mark Twain
As WWCD celebrates its 21st year here in Columbus, we have always strived to bring Columbus new music, support the arts, be good community partners, spotlight local musicians, raise monies for local children’s charities and countless other things that we as a locally owned and operated business are passionate about.
We are committed to continuing all these things at our home of 102.5 FM. We have a good working relationship with Southeastern Ohio Broadcast Systems and will continue to be for many years to come. We are not going anywhere.
I want to personally thank all the people who have posted to this thread - positive or negative. We read your comments, all of them, and we care what your opinion is. We cannot always commenton every detail because some things are timely, sensitive and not really for public discussion or debate.
I encourage you to listen and go to The Sounding Board to give us your opinions. Support us by frequenting the advertisers that support the station. Please feel free to stop by our office at 1036 South Front Street in Columbus to say hello and see the people that work here, see our passion for what we do.
Lastly, call to talk to me anytime at 614-221-9923 x127 and I will be happy to talk with you. Thank you again for all your support and encouragement. We appreciate it and we will continue to serve central Ohio to the best of our abilities. And since it is election day, I am Randy Malloy and I approve this message……

A message from General Manager Randy Malloy:

We are not going anywhere”, the fact of the matter is that Salem was sure enough that they would be programming 102.5 to have a website built and ready to go live. How did it get to this point? Something had to happen to cause the owners of 102.5 to look for an alternate programming source. The Facebook message to me read like something to calm listeners and advertisers down in the short term, while whatever issue there may be is resolved.
I wish I could be more optimistic but radioinsight.com, which broke the story, still isn't so sure, even after this latest release.
I mean--the signal change, the office change, the drop in online streaming...individually they all sound like they have a reasonable basis, but altogether...smoke, fire, all that.

Well, he also posted a virtually identical "we're here to stay" message to a thread on the Columbus Underground Board that had been discussing the possible demise of WWCD. While most posts to that thread were supportive, many criticized the station for being too musically conservative/repetitive, and some others were critical of the fact that the station didn't stream, the fact that they sold their broadcast license, etc. Maybe the "negative comments" remark was directed more at that thread?
Regardless, watching this drama unfold is entertaining!

Since WVKO-AM will be available to LMA in a few weeks time, maybe Gary Richards would be interested in LMAing WVKO-AM again?
