Ive heard that la mejor 99.3 has a new pd comming from Chicago could this station have the potencial with a good team to become a major player in the market? Ive heard their signal is very week can anyone confirm this and how about programming wize how do they compare to the rest of regional mexican stations in this market? who are the major players in the market?
There are three players in regional and five signals.
KLNV full San Diego county signal, including North County.
La Invasora. Two signals, same programming except the weaker one (a class A) runs Tijuana spots and the better one runs SD spots. The Class C does not do too well in North County, but better than 99.3
La Mejor. Different programmings, two frequencies. The 99.3 is for SD, but not good in North County. The Class A is for Tijuana.
You also have KLQV, perceived to be "Mexican" but not grupera with a signal nearly identical, after upgrading a few months ago, to that of KLNV.
In pop, the players are Digital, Pulsar, Latina and Exa. They all chew up less than 4 pop / ballad shares.
On AM there is W Radio, Radio Fórmula and 1470 and 860 with decent San Diego signals.
