Country (WSOC or WKKT)

As I've said before, WSOC aren't appropriate call letters for any station.

Plus, they keep monikering themselves as FM103, when they are at 103.7.

The Kat is a fast-paced station.

At least they promote themselves at the proper frequency - 96.9!

I was wondering the same thing. They had AM,FM and TV all with those calls.

I have always been told they stood for 'We Serve Our City' or 'We Serve Our Community'...

I guess amfmradio1 doesn't remember when 96.9 was known at Triple O 97 or Luv 97.

Yeah, I do remember when they were Triple O 97 or Luv 97.

96.9 is alot closer in proximity to 97 (actually, 97.1 is the exact freq.) than 103.7 is to 103!

103.7 should call themselves 104!

Though not really a country fan, I've always done my country listening on 96.9. They have a more upbeat and contemporary presentation. The "FM 103" is a good example of WSOC's ole fashioned 70's orientation. BTW, doesn't everyone know WSOC stands for "We Show Only Crime" which is appropriate for a TV station but not for radio.....

Why would the WSOC call letters not be appropriate? They go good with a country station. Were Southern On Country WSOC 103.7 "Charlotte - North Carolina's Best Country W-S-O-C" lol

How about "We're (the) Sound Of Charlotte" ?

Sounds appropriate to me.

Would the OP please elaborate on his reasons why those calls are not appropriate?

If they could use the WSOC calls on the west coast say CA it would be cool. But they have to use calls starting with a K. Only reason I say the WSOC would be good for a radio station in CA is because they could be called "Were So Cal"

WAME.

Country Legends 550.

Sure, it's daytime only, for all practical purposes.

But the others are pointless for the most part. I might listen for one song if I happen to hear a good one.
