Cox & The Dixie Chicks!!!

yeah boy U caught us!!!!! all a bunch o' fakers and pretenders who just happened to migrate to the radio board

[EDIT]

[EDIT-inflammatory]

never been in radio

BUSTED! :D

We confess: we're all just a bunch of janitors and dishwashers, doctors and lawyers and just plain' ol' folk who stumbled in here from our trolling for porn.

A few of us have allegedly worked in radio but it hasn't been proven yet.

Yeah but don't tell mama, she thinks I play piano in a whore house.

So... are there ANY country radio stations in America at all who will still play the Dixie Chicks, even if it's only by request?

(Oh, sorry, I forgot... there's really no such thing as "by request" in radio anymore... it's all focus groups, corporate control and majority rule, right?)

I would just like to know ONE country-format station that plays them, and how close they are to the South, if not by some miracle in the South altogether.

a station in louisiana did after the grammy's just to see what kinda of reaction they would get, and through one dixie chick song there was only one call that was negative.

to be completely honest with you i never understood why they still make such a big deal about what she said. i mean tim mcgraw and faith hill put down bush and the goverment after all that happened in the gulf coast and you don't see people reacting the way they did to the dixie chicks because of that.

tell ya why. cuz the whole invasion on iraq was bogus and the right had to take advantage of ANYBODY and EVERYBODY speaking out against the war to make them look un-patriotic. who better than a multi-platinum act to pick on

same as the kerry joking around the midterms, same as biden's obama comments---really and truly NOTHING TO THEM but the right is so desperate they'll say and do anything to rally their base

i can see your point

In my 35 years in radio, I spent most of that time in country radio; about half of my carrer at KILT in Houston. I've seen a lot of artists come and go. The first time I heard the Chicks, I just did not like the way of singing. It had nothing to do with politics. They can't sing.

big whoop

that can be said about around 80% of most pop-era singers

My whole family couldn't ever stand all the fuss behind them either, long before they went postal with their career... and you're right, they really can't sing...

yeah, isn't it ironic all the *we always hated the dixie chicks* talk AFTER the whole controversy. that takes real guts

buncha camp-followers

Speaking the truth here... If you don't like it, then fine... but there's no reason to harass me here.

I only recently heard "I'm Not Ready To Make Nice" since I'm not a country person. My challenge to any of you familiar with 80s pop music is to compare the chorus of that song to Bryan Adams' "In The Heat Of The Night" and notice the similarity.

How come this doesn't surprise me??? Maybe Bryan can sue them!
