There's a bunch of complaining and speculating on here about KAAM's Saturday evening DJ, Crusin' Al.
There's no question this guy is an amateur who is fond of radio as he preceives it was in the "old days" AND 50s and 60s music. The problem is that he has no God given talent and apparently doesn't want to work to learn the craft.
If it is true that Don Crawford doesn't pay his help more than $10 an hour, it doesn't matter the station's .7 share. The spot time charges are rolling in a fortune for him and his family.
And frankly, the weekday DJs along with veteran newsman Dave Mitchell, do a good job and the programming is tight. Crusin Al' might find it worthwhile to understudy those fellows. At least he'd learn to stop talking over the music.
I listen to KAAM a great deal along with KRLD's Ernie and Jay and Laura, Dennis, etc. on KSKY. And I really enjoy the fellows on the sport's station known as the Ticket...whatever its call letters are.
