Correction - set the transmitter so it would go stereo and not just a stereo carrier playing mono music.

A Federal judge in Miami has ruled in favor of Qantum, clearing the way for them to move forward in their attempt to acquire WTKE from Star Broadcasting. Qantum alleged that Ron Hale, after signing a contract to sell to Qantum, later made a deal to sell to Cumulus in violation of the "no shop" clause contained in the contract with Qantum. There is still the matter of Star's bankruptcy filing but this is a major win for Qantum.
 
I really think everyone who has heard about this fiasco is shocked that EVEN Mr. Integrity
would be ever so 'inclined' to try to sell one station to two parties and neither would find out until they
went to pay all the bills owed on it or fought for control of the studios.

The additional fact that Hale is in bankruptcy is yet another sad example of taking the wrong path.
If he had just done things right, he could have had three or four frequencies with
decent ratings in a great small market. But instead he has had a decade of this type of track record.
What has he gained from any of this?

Seriously, how does he have the guts to show his face (or his families) in Destin?

Hopefully they will carry coast to coast am or maybe move 105.5 over there or even 93.3 and put the 105.5 over to 93.3 (hey, another move) since Coast is doing well advertising imagine what a 100KW signal would do to them. 105.5 hardly comes in here and i'm 20 minutes from the tower near the santa rosa county border about 5 miles from KHRT.

All those ideas you suggested are things that might have happened if Hale prevailed in court and Cumulus acquired the station. As it is, 98.1 will likely become the property of Qantum and they will either keep it sports or change it to something else of their choosing.
 
Well, except for high school sports, sports on FM doesn't cut it for me and I don't know how well there doing in the (advertiser) ratings.

What we need is an FM talk that carries coast to coast am since there are no clear ams down here.
