Mobile Cumulus inks new radio deal for South Alabama Athletics

With the demise of iHeart's 99.5 The Jag into Kiss 99.5, The University of South Alabama has inked a new radio deal with Cumulus Media that will see games being broadcast on WMEZ 94.1 and Jox Mobile 660 AM / WDLT 104.1 HD3.

I don't really see much distinction between Mobile and Pensacola being separate radio markets. Cumulus may operate them separately, but the major signals are nearly identical in coverage.

IHeart basically runs everything out of Mobile, even 107.3 and 101.5 out of their facility at 555 Broadcast Drive.

For the bigger games, they used to use 96.1 and 99.9. And 99.5 is on 96.1’s HD signal as well.

I wonder how long South knew about this. Basically it was a "brand" on 99.5 that went away when they dumped sports.
