You know, the sad thing is that there a so many talented, creative people that want to get into/stay in this business, but companies like Cumulus just won't allow it. Anyone who can think for themselves is not welcome in the Cumulus Club. And forget about the pay....HA! You'll do better at The Varsity...and you get a meal discount! Just do what they say when they say do it. Start trying to implement your own ideas and be creative and you'll find yourself ambushed on a payday with a final check and an escort to the door. The Dickey's are pompus and self-absorbed. They could care less if you live or die. They will milk every ounce of work out of you and toss you aside like you didn't even exist. Too bad they own so many radio stations. Speaking of stations, check the ratings on the stations they own in markets where they have a direct competitor...they're getting their ass HANDED TO THEM. Mostly because of the cororate CHOKE HOLD they have on the local managers. As for the winning stations they've just taken over....just watch the mighty fall. People, you don't have to settle for working for Cumulus. Take stock of the last time they listened to you or even pretended to give a crap about anything you had to say. Get out before they boot you out. Take your talent somewhere else...where it won't go to waste.
