Those who made that assumption obviously had no idea how long the process of getting FCC approval along with the lead time for new programming introduction might be.The claim was made that the reason this was done was to influence the election. But no programming was ever done to do that, and the stations played no part in any election. So it was just chicken little thinking that had no basis in reality. My take is it was just an attempt by two unemployed Hispanic women to get funding so they could have jobs.
I guess those rumor sources had no idea at all about how the radio business works.
