I am in the business as well, but i try very hard not to demean people. No one in here knows everything, and no one is perfect. Lets's talk about how we can improve our industry though ideas, and strategies. Not finger pointing and hurtful words
overandout said:Hello to all the radio posters. I came to this site to see who else at Citadel had been cut. Yes....I was one of them. My name is Gail Ann Huber. Thanks for assuming that I won't be missed Sirox...whatever. I was with the station for nearly six years and did an awful lot for Citadel, but mostly, I enjoyed my job.
I am a single parent of two young children and doing this job allowed me the opportunity to pay my mortgage, have a vehicle and live life in general. We are not an extravagant family by any means, but we survived on my check.
Losing a job sucks, but when you read comments about "not being missed", it sucks double. Please allow those of us who have had our lives upended a little time to lick our wounds. Have a little respect for us and the fact that we have carried the torch in a very uncertain time for radio.
Slick Tom....if you're out there....I love ya man! And to all my radio friends, God Bless and go fight the good fight for Slick and me!

"I'm not sure how much Gail Ann will be missed"
This is what people are still wringing their hands over?
"I'M NOT SURE how much Gail Ann will be missed"?
C'mon. No offense, but if this comment is that big a deal, you're in the wrong business. Gail Ann included.
Note to Gail Ann: Ever been fired and had not-so-nice things said in the NEWSPAPER about you? THAT is a bummer, but can be a reality for some.
If there was ever a time for this advice in this business, it's NOW: Toughen up. Times aren't getting any easier.

Rox has apologized for misspeaking.....I think he didn't mean to be hurtful.
Let's move on, shall we?

Jack would never do that, why hire jocks when the format has solid numbers with running autopilot? More money going to inept shady program directors, general managers and CEO's who are greedy, egotistical, pompous and make far too much money, by doing nothing.Radknowski said:The Slick tom Morning Show on Jack. That's a superb idea with great counter-programming possibilities. The only downside is, Slick Tom would have to transition from nights to mornings and he's been known to tell listeners that he's not a morning person. I heard a phone bit Slick did a few months ago where some guy was talking about something Norton did on the morning show. Slick Tom replied that he usually falls asleep around 6 a.m. and misses most of Norton's show.

I don't think that would ever happen. I'd love to see it though as maybe the new administration would choose to "redistribute" their licenses.

Dear 97 Rock Listener,
Unfortunately we’ve had to take Slick Tom off the 7-Midnight show due to a big business slowdown1. We hope that this is only a temporary situation. Tom has been great during this period and we’ll be working to keep him involved with 97 Rock as much as possible in the meantime. We know how important Slick is to 97 Rock, as well as to his listeners and fans, and we hope to get him back as quickly as possible.

That's better for him than finding a new job, but Mr. Hager has to be one of the most loyal PD's for the jocks he hires.Radknowski said:John C said:Posted on 97 Rock Website: Announcement regarding Slick Tom

1Let's hope they don't wait until Citadel stock clears 50 cents a share.
