CW To Be Sold? Nexstar Among The Suitors.

I tend to believe the same thing. It wouldn't surprise me if Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point goes like this:

I don't see any changes in Atlanta from a Nexstar buyout of CW. What I wish would happen, in relation to the Tegna situation, is that NBC and Tegna swap their stations in Miami and Atlanta, respectively, making WTVJ a Tegna station and WXIA an NBC o&o.
I said earlier that WGHP and WNCN could get the CW but actually I think it would be more likely it went on 8.2 and 11.2. Can’t see them giving up the NFL. Just don’t know what they would fill the rest of the time with.
That would surprise me greatly.
Could go the other way. Chances are that WCWG pry ABC from WXLV and WXLV returns to Fox.

KCWE becomes MORETV again and WDAF adds the CW as a separate Channel so can add like Rewind TV,Charge TV and others that a Nexstar Station has that KCTV5/KSMOTV/KSHB/KMCI/KPXE doesn't have.
In your thoughts, I think it would more likely be...
4 - WDAF (CW)
5 - KCTV (CBS)
9 - KMBC (ABC)
29 - KMOR (Independent)
38 - KMCI (NBC)
41 - KSHB (Fox)
62 - KSMO (MyNetworkTV)
I think WDAF 4, would become a CW affiliate, while KCWE changes it's call sign to KMOR and becomes an Independent, while NBC goes to KMCI, and that KSHB would return to being a Fox affiliate.

Why WDAF only of the big 4 in KC area without a secondary channel to add Sub Channels to or add a 4pm Newscast. Also KMCI has Comdie Block in the Evenings on Weekdays but no 9pm Newscast anymore.

Nexstar owns WHO TV 13 in Des Moines Iowa and also owns the national News Nation (previously WGN America) and I notice that channel 13 airs a little of News Nation sometimes during their newscasts. If they buy the CW I wonder if they want to do away with alot of scripted programming for alternative or News programming
Probably not all; there are ownership caps. However, remember that when Fox bought the New World stations there were 12 switches directly connected to that buy; two CBS affiliates owned by CapCities became ABC o&os when that purchase took place; the NBC stations in Philadelphia and Boston, and the ABC one in Baltimore, became CBS o&os when Westinghouse bought CBS. So it doesn't preclude some Nexstar stations switching to the CW.
Note the CW is one of the sparking points where Nexstar has been named in taking a stake but also other networks have been considered by Nexstar.
Yeah, it's not going to happen, and those lists of station affiliation changes are just silly. There's no way that Nexstar would shrink the value of their stations by dumping big-four affiliations in favor of the CW.
I agree. Especially now that WJZY just became the official station of the Panthers. Unless Fox were to dump them but I doubt that happens. Now I could see WMYT switching to the CW because they happen to be a secondary station. MyNet could switch to WCCB, WAXN or even be relegated to secondary status on WJZY or WMYT because WMYT delays it’s programming to late night anyway. It’s not technically a network. That’s why it wouldn’t be so bad if WMYT just kept it as a secondary affiliation.

Short-term, yes.
But in 10 to 20 years, there is a very real chance that ABC, CBS, NBC, or Fox no longer exist as linear broadcast networks, having gone direct to consumer. Presumably that would kill Nexstar and the other broadcast ownership groups if it were to happen.
So buying a controlling interest in CW might be a smart long-term play.
WJZY is prepared for that possibility already with their rebranding to Queen City News.
