So where's your talent? I don't like Well's show (not my cup of tea) but he's apparently got SOME talent if he's on in a top 5 market. And yes, ratings and revenue is how those of us actually in the business measure success-radioisalive said:Well...here you go. The name is Don Bender of Frisco (formally of North Dallas). My email is texdjb1957@verizon . Anything else? Oh? and "Herself"? For the record I am a himself. Always have been since 1957. Look, whether you are who you say you are, I am just voicing my opinion. That is still a right in this country as of lately. Being in the public eye, learn to take some criticism. Not everyone is going to like you. Instead of whining about it, prove us wrong. I do believe radio is alive. So prove it to me. That is all I am going to say.
probably because those of us who actually put food on the table by doing this realize that talent is a nebulous thing- what you think is a talent may not be the same as what I think-
Heck "Pigvomit" didn't think Stern was talented- and he may not be a talented 'classic' DJ. But he's VERY talented at entertaining people, getting people to listen to his show, and buy the products that his advertisers are hawking.
So like I said, since different people have a different concept of talent, ratings and revenue are hard numbers that we can look at and ask 'is this jock talented at getting more people to listen to him(or her)?"
