Folks, the PPMs tell the tale, and this tale hurts not only Steve, who A) never has really been a morning guy and B) really doesn't have a format in which he can thrive any more, but C WGN, who took a HUGE hit in the latest PPMs.
All of which suggests that, when the Cubs aren't on, PPM listeners don't have it tuned to either Steve or WGN. This confirms the old saw that WGN's strength is 55+, where advertisers refuse to go.
This, of course, makes one wonder how the coronation of Williams will really work for WGN. Spike picked the perfect time to leave, if you ask me.
