Dallas Mavericks to WFAA/KMPX

Looks like the listings have been updated to show the future KFAA will just be a mix of WFAA repeats (News 8 Daybreak, Good Morning Texas), Mavs live games and repeats, and the rest of the time carrying the Quest network Tegna owns (on WFAA 8.4 now).

A streaming option will soon be available.

Interesting that some of these over the air distributions are giving some markets access to more than one franchise. Per the Mavs list, KSHV 45.1 Shreveport will carry their non-national games starting this season. The New Orleans Pelicans will have all their non-national games carried on KSLA 12.2 this season as well in that market.

Some of those Mavs outlets listed in South Texas -- KGBT 4.1 Brownsvile/McAllen, KXNU 10.2 Laredo -- would seemingly be in Spurs territory? Although the Spurs are still tied with Bally, conceivably there would be both Mavs and Spurs games in those markets.

On the NHL side, Scripps outlets in Phoenix (KASW 61.1/KNXV 15.2) and Tucson (KWBA 58.1) will carry games from both Vegas and Utah.

Previously, with whatever RSN you had, you were usually limited to one franchise

Some teams share or have overlapping territory. Here in Houston Comcast had both the Astros and Rangers on separate RSNs.

I’m waiting for Rockets and Spurs fans to start complaining about having to pay for RSN coverage while Mavs fans can watch the games for free.

I don't know why MLB allowed the Rangers and Astros to cablecast their games in each other's DMA's. Did this happen in Missouri with the Cardinals and Royals or any other market?

The entire state is designated as shared territory, IIRC.

Had the two teams attempted to split geographic areas there would have been bitter disputes over much of the state. Perhaps easier to share?

it made more sense when the Astros were in the National League before they moved to the American League, when the move happened, it turned the 2 Texas teams into divisional rivals in the AL West.

The announcement from WFAA and Tegna says that more sports programming to be added in the coming weeks. Could that mean an OTA agreement with a team in between Dallas and Fort Worth that just won a championship and a team that plays at a local university's gym???

it's official, KFAA 29.1 is now officially on the air as the calls went into effect today and the station has switched to English language programming while Estrella TV programming has moved to 29.2.

DirecTV still has all the Spanish listings for KFAA. I have yet to check the station on my rabbit ears.

What about the other non-streaming Video providers.
this is the list of providers listed:

AT&T U-verse TV
Charter Spectrum
DIRECTV
DISH
Frontier Fiber (Keller)
GEUS (cable provider owned by the city of Greenville, in Hunt County)
Grande Communications/Astound Broadband
OneSource Communications
Optimum

it's possible it's streaming via Sling TV (owned by Dish, until the merger with DirecTV is complete) and DirecTV stream.
