Thanks, I remember that site. It shows up on some of the old topographic maps of the area, along with the old KLIF site on Scyene Road.

The man was amazing, a master of innovation. He custom-designed much of the equipment at KIXL, for instance, a control room board that could be opened from the rear to allow better access for repairs or adjustments. He also developed a variable speed option for Ampex reel to reel tape decks years before it became a standard feature.

That was when there was basically farm land all around them. Oh, and the studios and offices were nothing to brag about, either.
