Dan Carroll on WLW. Still not ready for prime time.

Rush cost the station a boat load of cash. The money they make on that paid weekend programming probably helps pay for his program and Hannity's. By the way, who says I listen to those weekend shows? For the record I don't. I just happen to know they are there.

Again, the station makes money. Despite what they pay for Rush, they make money. You're the one who commented on the callers. If you don't listen, how do you know? Are you just making assumptions? How do you know they are there?

55KRC has strong 18-34 numbers? Really? Show me the evidence. The production and call screening on the Brian Thomas show is absolutely god-awful. "Play the cut, Joe!" "No, the OTHER cut!" ... This goes on with much regularity. I picture Joe as a one armed wallpaper hanger in working in 80mph wind gusts.

I don't see a problem with the "how-to" shows. They seem to have a following, and serve a purpose. I thought it was a great idea when Eddie & Tracy had Marilyn Harris (55KRC's "Cooking with Marilyn") on their show to talk about food for a great Superbowl party.

Station overall was #8 18-34. 96 Rock was tied for 6th. Morning show was #3, ahead of KISS, Wiz, EBN, 96 Rock.....
There's your proof.

I have listened but by all means I am not a P1 listener to the station. If you think that young people are flocking to listen to their programming then I guess I am hearing things the few times a happen to land on the station for a few minutes when I want to hear what they are airing.

Again this is my opinion as a radio listener, and I am not going to change your mind that 55KRC is top 5 18-34 since you have access to those numbers. I am saying, that it is not evident to me when I listen for a few minutes a few times a week.

Why is there an assumption that 55KRC pays a boat load of money for Rush? Rush has stated several times over the years that no station pays to run the show. All the station does is run it with the national ads, then their own. And you know what? Rush still makes fifty million a year, whether anyone likes it or not.

Here's a good article that explains how He get's his 50 million. They don't say what the extra fee is which 55KRC pays, but his show is not cheap. The question is it cheaper than a local 3 hour talk show like A Dan Carroll.

If a service costs a lot (as does the Rush Limbaugh show), a radio station gives up (or "barters") air time to the syndication service, and also pays an additional fee.

As an Economics major, let us give you a trip to the real world. Limbaugh would not be making in the neighborhood of $50 million, if his show was not profitable. Why would they pay tons of money for a show that was losing money? Companies exist to make a profit, nothing else, Economics 101. If you dislike Rush and do not want to listen, not a problem, switch the dial to another station, very simple. Do you not think that people in the media, who detest Rush, would not be telling the public, if Rush was losing money? They would be singing it from the rooftops, 24/7, seven days a week, 365 days per year and 366 days in Leap Year. I am curious, how many liberal actors who support the Obama agenda, work on the cheap, do you think they work for free? Your good friend, Barbara Streisand, uses her production company in Canada, so she does not have to pay Union wages and Pelosi refuses to allow Unions in her eating establishments. Michael Moore has never hired an African-American, lives in a neighborhood that is over 97 percent white, AND does not pay for health insurance for his employees, along with an armed security detail. Trust me, this is just the start of the hypocrisy of these people. If you are curious, my source is the Conservative New York Times.
