Exactly, I agree. That makes my point that pure sportstalk has a naturally limited audience of pure sportsfans. It might work locally, where everybody in Dallas wants to talk about the Cowboys, but nationally there is no unifying topic most of the time. What's big news in one area can't necessarily draw listeners all over the country.
As an example, listeners outside New York don't care too much about A-Rod, nor his wife, nor his wife's profane t-shirt, and certainly not enough to carry a three-hour talk show.
