RE "It's Yorke. Not York."
Dan will appreciate that!
I know.
It's "Cooke," not "Cook."
And here's a tip if you have a web site with your name in it: Register the-most-common-misspelling dot com. I learned this the hard way. A station manager once told me "Your web site is down." I was sure it wasn't. And, as I looked over her shoulder, I noticed she was typing-in "
www.hollandcook.com," which I quickly registered and did what-your-webmaster-calls "a redirect" to
www.hollandcooke.com
Several SMART stations -- which are controversial "hot talk" stations, and/or in heated competitive battles -- have also registered wxxxsucks.com, so nobody else could.
NOW ABOUT THAT COMMENT THAT R.I. IS BORING...
Au contraire.
Hartford, New Haven, Albany, Syracuse, or Rochester would KILL to be Providence.
At the last Waterfire of the season, I bumped into the mayor, who was hosting people from BARCELONA who were here to see Waterfire and Providence.
Want "boring?"
Just TRY to order a martini in Salt Lake City. Just TRY.
Want FUN?
Have dinner on Federal Hill.
Don't get me wrong.
The PEOPLE in Omaha are very nice.
But they don't have Newport nearby...
