Dance Pirate on 92.9 Trenton, NJ area

Finally someone gets it.. Thank's buddy... If Z88.9 cant compete with a little pea shooter that is only on a few times a week, than I suggest that Z88.9 step up on their game and go 24/7 dance and lose that,,,,, too good for you attitude.... and be nice to your listeners and supporters, Ive tried to be nice to Brett and show him respect,, but he comes back and spits in my face.. I could offer to give Brett a cup of hot coffee, and he would go and piss ice cubes..

How am I spitting in your face? I am telling you what you are doing is illegal. Dude you know nothing about how we treat our listeners. Name me another non-commercial radio station that does as many giveaways as we do? I don't have an attitude problem, but what I do have is when people do things illegally, I am totally against that. See you come back and personally attack someone.

Z88.9 does not need to step up its game, the station is doing what it has been asked to do and has succeeded its responsibilities.

You might also want to look at a coverage map because we don't even broadcast in Trenton, so that illegal pirate radio broadcast doesn't take away from our listeners.

And if you are going to offer me coffee, I take cream and sugar

If you don't claim to broadcast to Trenton, how come you are the official home of the Trenton Devils? I can hear Z88.9 in Trenton, albeit with a lot of static, and 92.9 is strong in Trenton. 92.9 also hits parts of northern Burlington County.

Brett must have gone through a lot of trouble to bring a dance format to 88.9, and to keep it running. Whereas the 92.9 pirate just simulcasts some Internet feed (that most likely isn't legal either).

Why are we all fighting over a little pirate station anyway?

Well, you don't see WPEN-FM offer a deal with the Trenton Devils :-X

Most professional teams have radio stations that are on in their markets broadcasting their games. The Phillies, Flyers, Sixers and Eagles have stations in Allentown, Reading, Cape May broadcasting their games.

The fan base of the Trenton Devils is not in the city, they are in the suburbs, such as Burlington, Monmouth and Ocean Counties. That is where are signal is the best.

I have never claimed that Trenton is a listening area for the station. Yeah you can hear us in parts but its a lot of static and interference. Our focus is Burlington, Ocean, Camden and Gloucester counties. That is the way are antenna is aimed towards

I love the multiple witch hunts happening in this thread. Keep it up people! LOL! Oh hey, I sparked up a bowl just a few minutes ago... Come bust me. :D

And this is why we look SO bad in terms of the "bigger picture" regarding terrestrial radio for our community....these constant piss fights going on about the music, format, etc.

I'm not going to take anyone's side here; if you want to listen to "Z" do so, if you want to listen to the pirate, do so. But in the eyes of "corporate" are they going to take a "pirate" more seriously than a station that is "legal", albeit non-commercial? There is a love, to a point of fanaticism, about our music because we don't hear enough of it on the mainstream. Yet if something goes on the mainstream, we all bitch about it as a "sell out". That has to stop.

At least in the Internet world, you have MANY dance music oriented stations out there. If you don't want to listen to Z88.9, you would be serving the industry well by listening to something over the Internet (whereas they DO pay royalties to an artist) versus a pirate though while "filling a void", is not going to bring any monies back to an artist that deserves is for all of their hard work, busting their butts in the studio, DJ's who remix them, etc.

Just my opinion.

I drove to Trenton specifically to hear/record 92.9 The Beat yesterday and to try to locate the transmitter site, but it was off the air. Just my luck.
