Actually, even more confusing than that is Calvin Harris "Feels So Close" making it huge.
And is Sia really as known as people here think? I'd say that Flo Rida is the more recognizable artist in "Wild Ones" while the female hook makes the song easily recognizable (but I'm sure a lot of people don't know who actually sings the hook). But I never thought this could lead to a pure sounding dance track with Sia singing by herself on it. It sounds straight up dance not only lyrically, but also vocally. I guess the "David Guetta" name being attached to it does help to some degree nowadays.

Starships is produced by "RedOne" who produces every other frickin Dance Pop track out (J Lo, Pitbull, Marc Anthony, Nayer, Sean Kingston, older Gaga, Usher, Enrique.....u get the idea), so that explains why everything sounds the same these days. Its almost equivilant to Guetta having 10 songs on the charts with 10 different hired singers which was the case a year ago.

I blame its lack of US crossover success due to her US label, who only released it to the clubs in the US while making another song as the first lead single from Kelly's last album to send out to US pop radio ("Rose Colored Glasses," which was a flop and was dropped from the album, while "Commander" remained on it). Her label could have tried to re-release "Commander" to US pop radio--or given a proper US single release to "Down For Whatever," which was a hit in the UK--but didn't do either, wanting to shove her down the hip-hop/R&B route instead as far as America is concerned.2Son said:

Yes, I know that Avicii (a/k/a Tim Bergling) was given a writing credit on FR's song, and "Levels" wound up being certified gold in America, but still...

That wasn't the first time that this sort of thing has happened. It was in 2007 that Alex Gaudino did the track "Destination Unknown" with Crystal Waters providing the vocals. Soon after another version of the track, still credited to Alex Gaudino came out as "Destination Calabria" with Rune's Calabria being mashed up in there. Rune (reversed to Enur) then came out with his version of Calabria with Saad (who died in an accident) and then done by Natasja that was HUGE in NYC.
So in that sense, Crystal Waters was robbed because her version didn't really take off stateside but was HUGE in Europe.

Madonna doesn't relate to the younger demos. Plus if you are talking EDM it's even worse. Plus she had a big interview on KTU on the last album which has become the bench mark for how interviews are supposed to be done in a ppm world. Ktu lost a lot of meters by the end of the interview
