Danny Bonaduce show moving to....

Kinda like a Jedi mind trick? Where he tells the listeners he's moving to 'another station' in hopes that their competition falls for it and tries to outbid the non-existent 'other station' for his services?

The only way I can see him going to WOGL is if he let them market and promote him as 'that red-headed kid from 'The Partridge Family...'. That's probably the ONLY way he relates to their audience...

What about the possibility (or probability) that Danny Bonaduce is full of crap, and saying what every other blown out radio guys says after he loses his job? Blowing smoke, man...smoke.

That's the most likely option.

All of this talk about CBS LOVING him, and NEEDING him, and WANTING to keep him, is ridiculous.

One of the reason why YSP is flipping is because it's morning show, the anchor of the station, has continued to under perform. In addition to a stale music selection, poor programming and even worse management, the station was a cluster f for awhile. It's a miracle the show almost lasted 3 years, with the sub par ratings it was bringing in.

If CBS wanted to keep Danny, why did they only sign him to a one-year contract?

Also, has actually anyone HEARD the Danny Bonaduce show? The show is pitiful. The cast is week, the show isn't funny, and if anything, it has highlighted Danny's inability to host a program.

The show will be off the air for good. It won't be returning to another station in Philly. The show will not be moving to another market, and CBS will be glad to get rid of what Adam Carolla once called "the red headed fever."

Reminds me of another Philly morning wanna be. barski. Gone and mostly forgotten.

Wannabe? I didn't care for him, but his tenure was far beyond a wannabe status. A bit of objectivity goes a long way in trying to hold rational discussions.

Barsky was on in this city for years on both WCAU-FM and Y-100 with ratings. His shows on Max 95.7 and Point 96.5 also had ratings but were gone due to format changes. I don't think Danny's ratings are anywhere near the top. People are listening to P&S.

I don't have breakdowns in front of me-- only a fading memory.

Barsky-- while doing what clearly was a male-oriented show-- still was able to deliver very, very female-friendly demos with respectable numbers. This made Barsky versatile, and, very hirable.

I don't think Bonaduce was able to pull that off quite as well in later years. Twenty years ago, when he was briefly paired with Lander on Eagle-- yes.

Barsky could come back to Philly in the coming years, for a stint at his 100th station here. And the hiring would still make sense for most stations provided the bank weren't broken.

I realize for whatever reason there are a lot of folks here and elsewhere who love to rip Barsky. But there have been few morning hosts in this market who've been able to have as much of an impact here over the past 20-30 years.

Ditto, George..I went to Villanova in the mid 90's. Barsky's show at Y-100 was the best I'd ever heard. All my friends loved him both male and female. Amazing talent and true Philly legend.

I think Barsky could do a good sports show on WPEN-FM while they kept Mike & Mike on WPEN. I don't think he burned bridges with Greater Media after WMMR, did he? ...but then, would they want more competition against Preston & Steve?

Setting aside whether such a move would be contractually allowed, having two strong shows is hardly a bad thing for any company's bottom line. If you assume such a show would do more harm to WIP, then, in the big picture, there's little to lose if it succeeds.
