Dave-FM's New Imaging

I can see that, especially if the #1 station reacted. The one I remember the most is the 99Sux campaign. Now, I can't remember if it was 96Rock, the Buzz or both that used it, but I do know it was a pretty sucessful campaign. Of course, it was also a campaign that was launched when 99X started its demise. Cause? Probably not, but it did help bring 99X down more than if it wasn't launched.

Although not as "in your face" as the other examples, Q100 sucked Star 94 into a battle. Star ends up chasing Q and ignoring the hill they owned (Adult Top 40). B98.5
gets two gifts - the AC hill and a morning show - Star now out of Top10 rank in many key demos.

OK, here we go --- mid 60's - Cobb County.
WSMA (1550) was a new rocker that played music while WFOM (1230) played a lot of commercials. However, WSMA was daytime only while WFOM was 24 hours.

Sooo.. WFOM starts this "imaging" thing between songs saying, "This is WFOM; the station that doesn't run down at sundown."

Well, that was kinda cute until WSMA said, "You know, some stations don't run down at sundown. They're run down 24 hours a day!"

'Twas the shortest "imaging" WFOM ever had. :D
