We are indeed profitable. If we weren't, we wouldn't be on the air. Being a non-profit does not mean there is NO profit. I do not know of ANY enterprise outside of government that can remain in business without a profit, non-commercial or otherwise.

(if the economy isn't hurting you, you're the only one)

We are being impacted by the economy like everyone else, but I wouldn't say we are "hurting". Underwriters, like advertisers, have scaled back their spending, but as I told you on another thread some time back, our revenue support comes primarily from listeners, not underwriting. So yes, because of the recession we're seeing less underwriting as other stations are seeing less advertising, but our listeners are still there and have actually increased slightly.

(programming is important, you just have to find somebody with a dime to spend on that fine programming these days)

We do, and they continue to donate, despite the tough economic times.
