Dave Ramsey on GST

I was suprised to see Mike Gallagher on WGKA's website. I went to Daveramsey.com and on the homepage it says his show is on WGST now from 7-10 pm. Not a real great time anyway, but throw the Braves into the mix, and I don't think many people will hear the show.

He's probably their answer to Clark Howard. Ramsey's whole thing is get out of debt.

Anyone think if they put him up against Clark that he could pull some of Clark's audience away from him?

Not really, Clark is just too popular. Interesting that WGST website has not been updated yet to include Ramsey.
If GST were smart they would also put Ramsey on the weekends for a little more exposure.

He is . . . Saturday 11 AM to 1 PM.

Glad to see they finally got rid of the two construction want to be's . . .

Wow, WGKA really changed their lineup. Not too thrilled to see Dr. Laura back (unless she was on a smaller station and I never noticed). I would have thought Ramsey was one of their more popular shows. He does give great advice, but I cringe when he goes into Jesus mode.

Well, this answers the question. I wondered where he went.. The other dude in his place on WGKA SUCKS, OUT LOUD. Yesterdays topic: Flipflops at work.. So in other words the guy is a foot fetish fanatic. He would probably not admit it, but you could tell he was enjoying all the calls from women about thier feet. Go Dave Ramsey its time to hear him on a major set of calls for a change.

No. Dr. Laura is NOT on WGKA. That's Laura Ingraham you may be thinking of.

Thanks Rodney, you caught me half asleep with thinking it was Dr. Laura. Duh! So, is Michael Medved's show also history? I love hearing debate and he's one of the few hosts who consistently puts opposing viewpoints on the air.

Medved is still there according to the WGKA website ... in fact you get all three hours of his show (3pm - 6pm). Dennis Prager has been bumped 9pm - midnight.

Okay, the other half of me was asleep! :D I logged on to their front page and I mistook the right side of the page as their normal day programming. It was actually just for that day (Saturday). I see now that not much has changed. Good.

Micheal Medved is cool. I actually like him compared to Sean Hannity. Not as brash, and does not try to come off as perfect. Also likes to show both points of view.
WGST and DAVE RAMSEY? This wont work... Dave wont have hardly any time on the air here. WGKA was perfect for him.. I really wondered why he was removed from WGKA? Anyone know?

Salem is asking Ramsey to pay for the time period. It was a corporate Salem decision. My understanding is this was nationwide. Wherever Ramsey was carried on a Salem outlet, he was going to have to pony up the $$. Heard this from a Salem GM in another market.

My thoughts on Dave Ramsey

So, IF Ramsey was on a lot of Salem stations - and IF Salem was trying to get him to pay for airtime - and IF Ramsey didn't have enough money to cover the bill to where he would have to borrow it - and his main thrust is getting people out of debt - and IF he wants to set a good example..............

Hmmmmmm... what to doo.....

Ramsey could borrow the money and then declare bankruptcy like he did back in the eighties. Apparently he located a bible verse that said it was okay not to pay any of those people back.

My understanding is Ramsey doesn't do pay for play.

Seems Salem got a little greedy. The GM's I've spoken to have said his show is easy to sell and a money maker for them.

The Salem talk stations while maybe losing some income have Salem programming to put on. The teaching stations will have to have Dobson et al pony up some additional $$ to fill the time.

Do any of you actually know Dave's story or how his operation works? Ahh, then you should know that the type of bankruptcy he filed allowed him to restructure and then pay off his debts and so that's what he did. He PAID them off.

And the Salem thing? You really think the reason he didn't pony up the $ to Salem was because he didn't have the money? Riiiiiiiight. The fact that he could clear stations like KCMO, WGST, KCMO and KFNC WITHOUT paying didn't factor into it at all... Keep telling yourself that.
