DEAD AIR on 106.7

IN SPITE OF MY OTHER VIEWS, I DON'T SEE THIS AS THE PROPER ROLE FOR GOVERNMENT. IF THIS FORMAT IS STILL VIABLE IN PITTSBURGH, I WOULD THINK CBS OR CC WOULD FIND SOME WAY TO DO IT.

If the PPM shows any FM station really faltering, this could be an opportunity. Just because Sheridan could not program for this market doesn't mean somebody else couldn't. I'm sure CC could bring in the "Beat" concept with no local jocks and nobody would know the difference. CBS has multiple properties that could be tweaked more Urban , especially B94. Of course this is old news, but people are keeping this post alive. I also think one of the college or lower end stations could add programming focused on the African-American community. How much Rock/Alternative/Heavy Metal/Classic Rock is needed. I know, in da Burg there is never too much.

They couldn't sell that either.

And for what it's worth, the stations likely to do better in the PPM than paper diaries are Q92.9 and star 100.7, the two stations everyone wants to kill. Hot AC is doing very well so far in other PPM markets.

KD and 104.7 will probably both take hits.

When I am in Pittsburgh, I listen to both of them a lot. But if a frenemy asks what is that station, I say WISH because I want to be popular. OMG
