Given the ratings information today out of LA and NY it looks like the "Fresh" format is in rapid decline. This format only lasted six months. MOVIN is dead on arrival in LA, after two million in spending. Emmis has moved the station to a more oldies/mega sound. JACK also is off 30% in LA, it's biggest market to date. It is always wise to look to other markets to help guide decisions in this market. Those who urged KBKS to flip to Fresh were clearly mistaken. Mainstream CHR remains a viable format genre. The same cannot be said of Fresh, MOVIN or JACK formats, now in hyper decline. Seattle may have unique qualities, but national market format dynamics are still at play here and should be part of any format dikscussion.
