It's "bonus listening" caused by people listening more than usual, often in moments and places where normally they would not listen.Always interesting how KOIT's huge Christmas bump doesn't seem to take significant audience away from anyone else.
KOIT also is fine tuned to the demographics of the Bay Area. Not loaded with classic rock like some ACs (e.g. KDGE, KCKC), but they do sometimes play some 00s R&B acts like Ne-Yo. And they still play the typical 80s/90s soft AC fare, if occasionally.KOIT, owned by Bonneville, is popular here because they promote the station as being perfect for "workplace music". It's a good advertising strategy. Their signal is strong in the Bay Area, and they have a booster station nearby that increases the signal where I am in the East bay. The businesses that I frequent, like the local auto mechanic, hair salon, nail salon, etc., all are tuned to KOIT. Right now, they're playing "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga as an example of their programming. Their music selection is not very remarkable, but they are very well known for having something that appeals mostly to everyone. JMO.
Agreed, I have heard 00's R&B on KOIT. - DarylKOIT also is fine tuned to the demographics of the Bay Area. Not loaded with classic rock like some ACs (e.g. KDGE, KCKC), but they do sometimes play some 00s R&B acts like Ne-Yo. And they still play the typical 80s/90s soft AC fare, if occasionally.
Not as vanilla, even though KOIT is owned by Bonneville.
Classic alternative live 105 would fix thatWow, 1.1 KITS…
The return of 99X in Atlanta seems promising, but we have to see if it will be a hit for the long term. If it is, I guess we can welcome back Live 105.Classic alternative live 105 would fix that
