You can actually learn something about the song or artist from Dees' show.
Seacrest styles his show more like a Hollywood gossip show where celebrity interviews take the forefront, and the countdown is stuck in more like an afterthought. He rarely gives any relevant info about a particular artist. The music is secondary.

When the LDD started off it was at a time when AT 40 was one of those rare shows that could be heard throughout the US and around the world. Nowadays, as you said, there's the internet, and through Social Media you can reach out to that Australian chick you met while you were on holiday in Greece![]()
