They all know me and I have never heard a complaint.

Oh and I never had to kiss backside to keep my gig. Most of the better jocks left because the did have the goods.
 
Mr. Radio.......you are right. If the one thing that defines your station is "the most music" you will never be great. Something that is so easily duplicated is not worth much. Live + Local + Fun = #'s which = $$

Good way to try and justify your name dropping. I don't hate, I just see through garbage.

There's good & bad in radio . There's good & bad in any profession . Its how you handle the situation. I've been on the beach since late December but I keep trying. I have no desire to give up. I know that eventually someone out there in radio land will hire me. I've been at it for almost 20 yrs (rock) . I've worked small-medium-large market gigs..sorry off topic lol! Embrace the changes in radio . Obviously, you have to multi-task. Hmmm..I was a multi-tasker but still was let go due to budget cuts lol!

There are plenty of people who hit the bricks by choice and it had zero to do with talent or ability to get along in the halls.

Be real for once and admit the TRUTH.

Quit pretending that if you smile everything will be great...BS.

You can smile all day long and still get royally screwed in radio...where is the garbage in that?

I just want you to admit it...that smiling and hanging out with the GM, Sales Mangager, etc...will not save your aaaahsss.

If it does than what good are you - really?

Have I been totally screwed in this biz in the past, yes!  Was I laid off due to budget cuts, yes.  Was I ever fired for speaking my mind, yes.  Am I 100% happy and still very alive and have bounced back in this biz...a HUGE YES!  Will I get screwed over again in the future, maybe.  Will I continue to trek on and not become bitter and let my negative surrouondings bring me down.  Never have, never will.

Throwdown, maybe the question you need to ask yourself...."am I built for this business and the way I may have to evolve to be successful?"  "Am I willing?"  Looks like your answers have already been voiced in MANY threads and posts on this board.

Sometimes we get carried away and off-track on how cool our job (people in radio, mainly talent) really is. Have fun, man! There is still fun in this biz. Maybe you SHOULD smile. You may be better off.

Excuse me while I go to my non-desk job and a earn a nice living doing the coolest job in the world.

Now THAT is a respectful answer..and I commend you. You haven't brought me down. I just, in all sincerity, want people to look at the upside to this biz. With all the negative press, it just continues to bring IT down. How will we ever bounce back? My drug is being passionate and positive. Whatever the case may be. I Just don't want us passionate peeps to add to the hooplah. Eh, I guess we all live pipe dreams and hope for the best.

THROWING DOWN

For me is all about setting the gauntlet for a better day in radio...

Not living the past=Improvements have been made...

I had checks bounce working at mom and pops and thats no fun either.

I am throwing down with BAD radio and bad treatment of radio talent.
