Democratic National Convention-MSNBC

I just watched on PBS all three nights. CBS and ABC should be ashamed for joining our vice president in the middle of his speech, if that's what they did. I didn't know NBC was going to show the whole thing until I saw the tape of the start of "Jeopardy", which actually starts at the end of Brian Williams' newscast. So this explains no "Saving Hope"--that and they apparently didn't make any more episodes, because there was no "in two weeks".

I feel sorry for all those who were hoping Clinton wouldn't run over by 30 minutes, but the man has a history. He was quite entertaining, though.

I didn't really hear commentary, but one of the people on PBS picked up on something I had noticed--the steel plant employee complained Romney had closed his plant and made a profit. As he talked, I observed that it seemed Romney had given that plant a chance to succeed. It just didn't. The man on PBS said the same thing.

Here is where we are getting half a story here and half a story there. Maybe before the campaign is over, investigate reporters can assemble the puzzle pieces in such a way that we can have confidence in the picture we are observing.

There was a steel plant... (was it in Kansas City?) that was purchased and owned for a period of time by Bain money. Is that one where one ex-worker appears in a commercial commenting that his wife died of cancer because of insurace problems but in defense it turns out she died years later? So Romney enthusiasts say: "They gave the plant (the company?) a chance for several years and they couldn't make it. Workers may have been the problem. Plant managers may have been the problem. The system worked. The plant failed.

Next commercial. Some steel plant was picked up or a new one started in the Chicago/Gary Indiana area. It has been a colossal success. Now expanded to multiple plants. America's largest producer of steel. See: Bain Capital/Romeny know what they are doing.

So that leaves us with the question. Were the Kansas City folks incompetent and bad managers that got from the free enterprise system what they deserved: a failed, closed plant. Or, were there all kinds of legal and corporate and tax contingencies attached to the Kansas City plant that made it more profitable to shut it down for tax and cash issues rather then poor local performance? If the Bain/Romney expertise was so good in Chicago/Gary, what kept the goodness and skill from making the short drive down to Kansas City and infecting the KC people with smarts and incentive? I don't know enough about the situation to point a finger at anyone. But my curiosity says we would all be smarter voters if someone could give us answers to the questions I have raised.

And so here it sit, holding my breath.... and waiting for answers.

I don't care about the plant. I care about the 'missing' tax returns.

The DNC should have been in Illionis and RNC in Massuchattes.

I can't think of a single time that a convention has been held in the presumptive nominee's home state. Convention cities are picked for strategic regions - generally they're swing states. The DNC is hoping that the choice of Charlotte will help the Dems carry North Carolina in the general election. Same thing with the RNC and Florida.

NBC announced early in the week that they would not show the final two episodes of that program. The show is allegedly available online, on HULU, and on-demand.

I am pretty sure that no matter where you watched it, the Democratic National Convention pretty much appeared to want to copycat the Republican National Convention with respect to some speaking.

Comparing the two Conventions to late 80s Houston radio stations, It appeared to be the DNC was 93Q during the Club 6400 days and the RNC was Power 104 morphed into 104 KRBE Hits Without the Hype a no thrills format.

Who wrote the RNC script? Glenn Beck? You all know he DJ'd for KRBE back then LOL.

When I mean by compare I based it on audience vs audience.

And this is coming from someone who is not a Democrat.

Turn your A/C off, and if you have a electric water heater flip it off by the breaker, the library is my hangout for the summer, along with City Hall. I look at it as a postitive you can save money on your electricity bill and steal the city's electricity, legally!!! :D

Kind of why I bought a laptop with wi-fi! Wi-Fi moochers rejoice! You can watch your "Saving Hope" while I will be watching "The Rockford Files" ;D

Well, that - or stop being so afraid of your own computer, learn how to update whatever plug-ins need updating, hook up your speakers and just watch at home like tens of millions of the rest of us do every day.

There are plenty of us here who'd be happy to try to help you through the process if you need help.

I use Microsoft Fix-it, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Advanced SystemCare Pro 5. I just got back fixing a friends computer so he can watch ESPN3 sports videos via Time Warner.
