Ah, Mr./Ms. GenX. I think you tipped your hand in your last post. You couldn't care less about the sports talk content of D&C. You hate them because they're "right wingers". And that's what left wingers do.

eh, right wingers hate on lefties too. There's plenty of hatin' on Occupy Every Public Space Possible. That's the nature of politics, very polarizing. I love Greg Hill on WAAF but when he starts getting political, I change the station. I love non-commercial stations, but as soon as I hear Amy Goodman and Democracy Now! come on, I change the station.

You can't please everyone, and that goes for any aspect of broadcasting.

Of course one person's view of something as "hate" can be seen by others as "brilliant political satire" :)
I try to see the humor in things. I am a GrouchoMarxist. :) From Rick Perry's undecipherable debate
point about Romney flip-flops to millionaire Michael Moore denying he's a 1 per-center... :) There's plenty on both sides to make me smile, from "botched jokes" to rapture predictions to scandals throughout the
political spectrum. Waiting for the next Republican to be caught tappin' his feet* in a Minneapolis
airport bathroom, or the next Democrat to be caught looting the change machine** and the copier :)

I like good broadcasters. I don't think D&C are.

Speaking of good behind the mic I tuned in to Lisa Simeone for the first time last weekend. I have no idea what she's like(personally) but she did a nice job. I assume that was her last gig.

One thing I have noticed is that there's an inverse relationship between Obama's approval rating and "left wing" vitriol. As the former plummets, the latter skyrockets.

Fortunately right wing vitriol is always there.

I'm about as far to the right as you get in Massachusetts and I HATE D&C. Even if I agree with their politics they come off as smug a-holes. I only listen to T&R or Ed Lambert in the morning.

T&R were good today. The Pats could go unbeaten/1 loss the rest of the schedule and win the Div. Should help 98.5.

I have to say that although the Sandusky thing is huge story it's sickening and how long can you listen to this @#$%? I'd rather hear from Charles Manson.

The Pats play only one game a week, usually on a weekend or a Monday night. Does that really have a big impact on their ratings? I get the impression that neither station cares much about weekends. Also, I've always been a fan of Gil Santos, he's still on top of his game, but I think it's time for Gino to call it a career.

Does 98.5 have more player/coach interviews than WEEI? I honestly don't enjoy the Pats' interviews. From Belichick to the ballboy, these guys are pretty closed mouthed. No breaking news there.

I think the Penn State situation has to be helping D&C. They are much more of a serious sports show. I don't think people are going to want to hear from the comedians about this matter. The football knowledge on the mid-day and afternoon shows are about equal between the two stations, but it's no contest in the morning. T&R are funny, but are sports lightweights.

Sorry, I'm just trying to figure out the statement "he's still on top of his game, but I think it's time for Gino to call it a career". I could see if you said "he's not on top of his game, time to call it a career" or "he's on top of his game, I look forward to continue to hear him". But, don't understand your statement.

He's saying that Gil is still on his game and its time for Gino to go. Seemed simple to me :)

I don't think either's in their prime, let's put it that way. At some point the Kraft family will say enough. They probably get dozens of discs.
Both broadcasters have been fortunate in their longevity.

I could have used a semicolon to separate the two clauses, instead of a coordinating conjunction. Something tells me it wouldn't have made much difference. I probably should have used two simple sentences. Gil is good. Gino is bad. How's that?

Dale Arnold and Scott Zolak will be the new broadcast team for the PATS NEXT SEASON.
that would be a bit akward since the sports hub rip him constantly, but would be a great team maybe gresh could be the sideline guy

Is this a bold prediction or do you have some inside information? I think Dale's contract with 'EEI runs out in March. I bet they'd be pretty good together. Actually, they'd be a decent mid-day show. Dale has it all over Muttnansky and Zo vs. Merloni is about even, depending on which season it is.

Nothing inside. Zolak is 3rd man in booth this season. Dale will be free of his Entercomm contract , did a good job as play by play with pats in 1988-1991 on old 850 and is a pro. Just common sense.

I've wondered about Dale's next move with his contract coming up. Can't imagine he feels too many pangs of loyalty towards Entercom after being kicked off his show (while being the only daytime show that was still regularly beating 98.5).
They do tease him a bit on 98, but he seems to be respected at the same time. And of course since they're all on CSNNE every night we all know that at the end of the day it's just about the $$.
