Dennis Prager Hurt in Fall

Reconstitute Nationwide Communications. Have them buy it back, get the old WGAR call letters back, wheel Lanigan out from whatever nursing home he's in and put him back on, bring back their old format, redo the Antenna system so it sounds decent and maybe get a few FM translators around town to make up for any signal degradation from all the newfangled BS that spews out spurious RF signals that interfere with the AM band and have at it. [Yeah, I know. Wishful thinking.]
Wishful thinking? I want what you’re smoking.

It seems like every time I travel to another city, I hear a station that is either oldies, soft rock or smooth jazz. I was in Vegas last week and heard an oldies station, Kool 102, that was very similar to the old WMJI. A shame we don't have anything like that in Cleveland.

There has been mixed messages about Dennis Prager's return. On Bob Frantz' Live and Local show, he announced that beginning March 31st, Charlie Kirk would be on from noon until 2:00 pm. I recall him even saying the Kirk's show is a 2-hour long affair. I was surprised about that. Bob said that the 2-3pm hour would be hosted by (name?) I was driving at the time, and can't remember who he said it was, but it was a guy whose name I am unfamiliar with.

The next day, I heard a spot on WHK announcing that "The Charlie Kirk Show" would be on for the full 3 hours (Noon - 3pm) ... actually 12:06 pm until 3:00 p.m. ... beginning March 31st.
I just checked the schedule on the WHK website and it is showing Charlie Kirk from Noon - 3:00 pm.

Yes. This is how it will be until Dennis Prager's return, set for June. Prager will, then, take the 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. hour. Assuming everything goes as planned, the outstanding question is: Will "The Dennis Prager Show" start right at the top of the hour, or join all of the other talk show hosts and start at about 6 minutes after the hour following news and spots?

Given that it's Kirk's existing show that is essentially taking over, there's no reason not to make the show clocks uniform.

It seems kind of arrogant of Prager to think we don't need to hear the top of the hour news.

Salem's top of hour newscasts appear to be broken up into at least three segments, so if a station doesn't want to air the full newscast, they could just air one or two segments.

He did that when he went from 3 hours to 2 hours to accommodate all of the other things he was involved with... writing his Tora books, personal appearances, PragerU, writing his weekly column... The dropping of the top of the hour news and spots was, imo, meant to lessen the impact of him going from a 3 hour to 2 hour show.

Well that doesn't sound good. I was wondering why there have been no recent updates on his condition. At his age and condition, he should probably forget about returning to a daily radio show.

😢😢😢
This is sad news. I notice that Salem is sharing as positive of a message as they can. Details about this setback is of interest but, then again, I understand the desire for privacy. Dennis Prager may share further thoughts with his supporters via another robo-call. I pray for the health and return to the airwaves of Mr. Prager.

This thread may be better placed in the News/Talk forum.

If Dennis Prager has a strong desire to return to the daily show, he should NOT forget about returning to the radio airwaves. Looking forward to, and working towards, returning to the show can be helpful to his mental state and his recovery.

More in this story:

Salem continues to maintain Prager’s subscription site, PragerTopia, during his convalescence. “We will continue to keep watching the recovery for Dennis and pray for his improvement,” the company said in a statement. “Jack has done a fabulous job there for months. While it is nearly impossible to replace an icon like Dennis, our affiliates have made that transition work. Listeners love the Charlie Kirk Show, while at the same time are missing Dennis.”

Dennis suffered a horrific injury no one should ever want to think about. Even if he wants to return, his body may not allow it.

Speaking of falling.....guess it was my turn to fall and get hurt pretty good. Cracked rib and broken hand and wrist. Not as old as Dennis but if I keep up this falling crap....won't make it there.
