DePetro gets press because he did something bad. O.J. Simpson was getting press too - until the public finally had enough of it.
If WRKO wants that kind of press, YoYo, with a sitting D.J., they should re-hire Parenteau. That would
be a controversial move and he would actually get bigger ratings.
Didn't you see the post about controversial jocks - Finneran, Bulger, Parenteau, etc. As noted, they
are actually more talented than what we are experiencing. The problem is that the Son of Sam law (well,
in spirit; Sam not being Scott Allen Miller) would prevent WRKO from going lower than the very low bar
its already set for itself; or if we're talking Julie/Jason, the bar THEY'VE already placed so low.
DePetro did the Kerry Healey thing, his numbers didn't exist, he couldn't be creative, so he said something
to get him some ink. I agree with those here who say he was doing what RKO wink wink wanted him to do.
His ratings were so invisible that they used it to dump him. Radio:cruel business.
