Depetro, Too Little, Too Late, everythings NOT a joke.

What's been so stunning is how weak and whiney John Depetro sounds now. Was he this whiney and intolerant of contrary points of view his first time around in this market?? I don't remember John being so whiney and short with his callers like he is now. Has he changed or is it that he comes before Dan Yorke now and the difference in the depth of their shows is stunning?? Yorke is a man and talks mature topics with depth. That's bad news for Depetro who comes across as some kid doing a show at a college radio station.
The old adage you can't go home again sure does seem to apply to John Depetro and I'm one who enjoyed his past show and looked forward to him returning to RI. So far I've been quite disappointed. Depetro has not grown as a talk host. Not good!

I believe he's got to be REALLY careful, not only because of what has come down recently with Imus; but the spctre of what he did up in Boston prior to getting fired up there....there has got to be a big fat clause in his contract that if he does anything of a fireable offense, it'll happen and Buddy getting out of jailand a perfect fit for that timeslot all add up to "a show about nothing".

(for credit purposes-that last line was taken from Seinfeld, don't want to get accused of plagarism! Ha!)

I was initially really excited to have Depetro back in Rhode Island. Unfortunately the excitement wore off incredibly quick. I think I listened to his first show on WPRO and that was it. I haven't listened since. However I don't blame Depetro for this. I just seem to be at a different time and place in my life than I was during his HJJ days and I simply don't have the desire to listen anymore. Sorry John. It's not your fault. I hardly listen to any radio these days. Just Stern on satellite and some stuff online. That's about it. Oh yeah.... Michael Savage too.

I don't think Depetro being cautious is the problem. I think the problem is he hasn't grown as a talk host. John is the same sophomoric talker he was before he went to Boston. He hasn't grown or matured as a talk host at all. He doesn't do shows with any depth or carry on any actual discussions with his callers. John takes a lot of calls yet has very few if any actual back and forth give and take chats with his listeners. Maybe Skynet is right. Maybe we're the ones who've changed and what Depetro does no londer appeals to us? Not sure the reason but I know one thing, Depetro just doesn't do it for me anymore.

You make some good points. Let me add this. Take the Cho shootings, Depetro would have been out loud thinking" Maybe this was a terrorist act, Ismial Ax is an Islamic term, the Media is out of control ect"...
Instead, he is just ' GABBING'. Says nice things about the press and just waits untill 11 45.
I wonder if Paul Giammarco shouldn't tell Depetro to WAKE UP!
WPRO is not going to fire him for being provacitive. He's got to get 'brave' again!
Yorke has been.
That gives Depetro what he needs.

Do we all see now what the disease of P.C. does? Look what it did to Depetro!
