Deters To WQRT

Gee.... to think that i posted this as kind of a joke. Never thought it would happen.

I wonder if Fingers wishes he had made a deal?

Deters claimed in his Cincinnati Enquirer chat that some at WLW were angry that he was getting better ratings than some of their full time hosts.

I wonder who he was getting better ratings than?

Uh, how do we know he's telling the truth?

That wouldn't be a problem if you could find a FM translator freq for 1160. Seems more small AM's are doing that.

Geez, MB, i wouldn't call the signal small....
Boy, if you saw what was available, translator wise, yuk.
The only decent one is held by EMF. I talk with them quite a bit. They ain't budging on their Cincinnati one.

Chicago (WYLL) is still changing their facilities. On paper, when finished, they should be sending less energy towards Cincinnati.

Their old facility was in Des Plaines and shooting south. The new one is in the Joliet area and shooting towards Chicago. At some point, we are the beneficiary of this change, day and night.

We just did a major tech project on both AM's. Spent thousands. Bottom line is that folks are reporting a better signal.
Better under bridges. Kiesewetter wrote me and mentioned that it (1160) sounded great in Fairfield.

Now, we have to retune the array and get the modulation back up. As they say, stay tuned. We are all about squeezing every bit of coverage that we can possibly get, out of every one of our stations.

Hasn't this construction taken an awfully long time? Seems like they've been building this site forever!

Well, its odd. 355 construction on the west side of the site took forever. It messed with their pattern.
Then, they filed to make the new site their auxiliary day site. They have the ability to use it, any time, without notifying the commission. If you compare patterns, the new aux. day pattern is really close to what the current site does from Des Plaines. It just doesn't go out as far but, with a little manipulation, the night site should be able to match the day pattern from Des Plaines. Then they can license it and sell that pricy real estate in Des Plaines.
At any rate, the facility at the Joliet site shoots energy away from us and towards Chicago. It ultimately helps WQRT.

If Deters says he was getting better ratings than one of the regular hosts--he's not telling the truth. Not better than Doc...CLEARLY not better than Willie. Not better than Sloan and Tracy. Not better than Lance. First off he wasnt on in the 9-midnight slot long enough to get a true sample compared to Amazon who also doesn't have a true sample cause his time slot is now essentially the Reds til October.

And Deters was never on at a consistent time on weekends for him to compare his numbers to anybody. He is blowing smoke. Bulldog is great as a fill-in but on a regular basis his act could get really tired. The PPM numbers when he filled in for Willie prove it.
