Developing News - Chuck Benfer to leave ABC

It would make sense. Right now Fly is strong as Crush is rebuilding and re-fueling. Fly has a management vacuum due to the departure of Chuck Benfer while leadership decisions still need to be made. With the Spring book we could see Crush delivering a new live line up featuring some of Fly's moving parts (perhaps the Fly Format with a 90's lean including Terry and Suzy). Crush must sign on with it in a big way. They need some kind of gimmick. Sounds like a direct HIT for Fly though.

Darwin not Darcey.

One of our reps upstate heard Townsquare was considering including Suzy Garcia in the live line up on Crush. Has anyone got confirmation of this? The station she was on in the Hudson Valley was anemic and did not produce much cume but she was very consistent as far as ratings/TSL.

Word is Crush is going to compete head to head with Fly in 2012. Does anyone know if this is true?

Personally, I think Suzie IS one the best female personalities in this area...She's got the whole package, sounds great, sexy, humorous, very cute...

As far as going head to head with Fly, why not? They too have a powerful signal, they have one of the best management teams in Austin and O'Donnell...Me, I would go Top 40 with the flair of the 90s...I think their rating plunged big time due to no personalities. I know I have listened less. IMO. Come back fresh with personalities. The only DJ I would bring back is Darwin.

Correct, not Darcy.

If not full-on Rhythmic/Urban, a Rhythmic/Urban-leaning CHR would be a great fit for 105.7, and would take away from both FLY and JAMZ (which have a 13 share combined as of Nov 2011)... I'd keep all the 90s hip-hop/R&B on the station however, to help sound different from FLY or Jamz...

Crush fm should be more like KTU's current format less repetitive though plus the 90's and compete with fly.
