It was much the same for KMNY's BizRadio before that, which I believe did achieve a 0.1 in one book, one time. But the 1360 frequency's lack of listenership goes all the way back to the waning days of KXOL in the early and mid-80s, and right on through KNRB, Radio Aahs, etc.txchipk said:It's interesting that when KMNY 1360 was leased out to Rational Radio, if it managed to show up in the ratings at all, it would be with a 0.1 or 0.2. In the recent times, with it leased out for Spanish religious programming, it is drawing over a 1 (and from the overall numbers, it only trails KTCK, WBAP, and KRLD among AM stations).

To use the phrase favored by Randy Michaels, aside from the sports stations, this is not a good market for "spoken word" formats, whether they be commercial or non-comm.
If that isn't a sign DFW needs a full market Classic Country station, then I don't know what one is.MarquisP4 said:the ranch and range's classic country sister stations (ktfw and the possum} had higher ratings than either of them.

Yes, they still have their morning show and Mark Davis.. but that's it. Those were somewhat watered down too as WBAP accomodated the move to run Rush Limbaugh live by cutting Davis down to 2.5 hours and taking a half hour off the morning show and giving it to Davis.
Afternoon drive is taken up with Sean Hannity and Mark Levin from New York. They don't even have the Dallas Stars games anymore to draw in hockey fans who might not otherwise listen to the station. Now that they're co-owned with KLIF, they may have an opportunity to re-think what they're doing. Perhaps move one of those syndicated shows over to KLIF and bring back the afternoon news on WBAP.
They need to do something or soon they'll be looking up at KLIF in the ratings. That's a scary thought.
D/FW is the only top 5 market where a news station isn't competitive... If you look at news stations in the other top 5 markets, KRLD's audience share here is 40-70% lower than the news stations in the other cities.
