Diamond Sports loses another team.

I suspect that Scripps Sports will get Wild, Blue Jackets, Hurricanes, Predators and Red Wings from when Bally goes Chapter 7 or they go bankrupt. Anybody will get the rest.
 
Here are the upcoming important dates for the Diamond Sports Bankruptcy. There will be a Status Conference on Wednesday to give updates probably related to the renewed Comcast negotiations. After being postponed multiple times, the Objections deadline is now on Friday for anyone who disagrees with the Reorganization Plan (most likely MLB). Next Monday is the Confirmation Hearing to finalize the Reorganization Plan assuming no objections are made. Otherwise they will probably be hearing the objections and the plan could be denied if the judge agrees with the objections.

Nostalgia for the days of local sports on local over-the-air TV is obviously a big factor here. The wishing is that all these teams whose RSN deals are collapsing will have to put most of their games on a local flagship and scattered affiliates, just as they did in the warm-and-fuzzy pre-RSN, pre-streaming days. And some of them are being forced to do so -- temporarily. To think that they'll continue to leave money on the table by depending only on advertising and not a combination of advertising and fees to maximize their profits is naive. At some point, OTA TV will be out of the picture again and fans who want to see their teams' games that aren't on national TV will have to pay some entity or entities to do so.

I know a lot of leagues are trying to figure out streaming, and in particular, how much of a revenue dip would be encountered if teams move in that direction before viewers move that way. Most aren't ready to jump yet, but I'll guarantee it's coming. All it takes is one pro league to figure out the formula, and everyone will climb on that bandwagon.
There's no going back to the days of local OTA TV with exclusive broadcast rights. There's just not enough revenue from pure play advertising for the league to try that model again. All these teams bet on broadcast rights fees to cover huge player salaries. Giving the broadcast away isn't going to generate that kind of revenue stream. Giving stuff away is a lousy business model.

We don't know if the Pistons and Red Wings will be on Bally Sports Detroit including non-nationally televise games and the early round of the playoffs for the 2024-25 NHL and NBA season or not. If Bally Sports Detroit is unable to carry the Pistons and Red Wings in the upcoming season, they will be end up having an joint agreement with Paramount and Scripps Sports.

Can you site where you are getting this news that Paramount and Scripps **will** have these agreements with those teams, because there does not seem to be any reporting that shows that. Given Paramount has had no interest or be involved with any regional sports rights, is this your speculation?

Don't hold your breath waiting for those links. They likely don't exist.

Saturday: Red Wings (Saturday night only expect for national prime time games)
Sunday: Red Wings (1st half), Pistons (2nd half)

Note: Any Tuesday and Thursday night Pistons games and any Wednesday night Red Wings games that are scheduled to appearing on TNT, will not be airing on WKBD as well as any Sunday afternoons Pistons games.

Also WMYD will be airing home preseason games and WKBD will be airing road preseason games for both of the teams. WMYD will air road playoff games and WKBD will air home playoff games for the first round of the both the NBA and NHL playoffs. If the deal reach, it expect to be 6 years and it can run through the 2029-2030 NHL and NBA season.

This is absurdist gobbledygook. Even if such a deal actually took place (which wouldn't because Paramount does not do local sports of any sort nor do they have any plans to do so), all you're going to do is confuse viewers and undermine any actual return on investment.

Paramount Global was going to doing live sports after 8 stations dropped the CW late last year. Now 7 stations that owned by Scripps will be dropping the CW in another month and switches to an independent station. In fact, the current CW affiliate in Miami that is due set to disaffiliate from the network will be carrying the Florida Panthers later this year and we still waiting for current CW affiliate in Detroit who also will be disaffiliate from the network to carrying either the Pistons or Red Wings later this year.

No major announcement had been made by neither ABC affiliate WXYZ nor CBS affiliate WWJ as of yet.

Right? It seems like this particular topic lends itself toward rampant illogical speculation wrapped about gobbledygook.
 
Diamond is once more kicking the can down the road hoping teams will take whatever deal it gets at the very last minute. They 'almost' have the Comcast deal, they 'almost' have the monies the teams want. More ' ifs' and 'maybes'. I feel that patience with the teams and leagues will run out sooner then later.

Any NHL or NBA team got dropped out of Bally Sports according to the court document??
