What's particularly mystifying, Dick Biondi has not been inducted to the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame. What's up with that, ladies and gentlemen!?

It's pretty simple, Mike. The membership has not voted for him. The broadcasters group, from what I'm told, is very democratic by giving its membership the opportunity to select the inductees. The process is not limited to just a few people making decisions in a back room. His name is on the ballot, along with dozens of other worthy nominees. I, personally, have never voted for him, because other than hearing air checks, I'm not familiar with him. He was before my time. For the past couple of years, for instance, I've been voting for Jack Armstrong, because that's who I was listening to as a teen. I'm sure Dick will get there some day. But it's remarkable at the number of great broadcasters who are out there, awaiting their chance at this Hall of Fame honor.

I remember listening to him but only vaguely. There was also someone who used to make fun of him and do an imitation calling him Dick Piondi. I don't remember who it was though. In those days everyone had the freedom to make fun of everyone else.

The great thing about Biondi on KB that you don't hear anymore is the jocks of that era were very close to the music and the performers who made it. I guess the payola scandals came in and ruined that.

He have been elected to the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of fame a long time ago. I guess that although he worked at KB before WLS he is more identified with Chicago rather than Buffalo. Then again you can't elect everyone who ever worked at WKBW, they were all great sure but there are other stations in Buffalo with great people too. In fact I think Buffalo historically has been a better radio market than most but I'm biased.
