We talk about it every year and since no one has started the topic yet, I will. And, at about 12:20am, we've probably seen the last of Dick Clark for the rest of his show as he tends to disappear right after the ball drop since the stroke (although the tv is in the other room so I could be wrong).
Dick looked pretty good, sounded ok, and I noticed he was using both hands to gesture where, in the years since the stroke, one of his hands (the right one?) stayed on the table. Limited participation from Dick until the final 15 seconds and then he counted down. A couple of years ago, a story came out that Dick's 'scenes" were pre-taped now. Not sure if they still are but they looked live. And his kisses with Mrs. Clark looked very slurpy.
Kellie Pickler (a first timer as the streetside roving reporter) is a lot better to look at than Steve Doocey or Slater from years past. She did a pretty good job although I could have done with less yelling from her. She yelled EVERYTHING. But awfully cute.
Not a fan of Taylor Swift but she performed live in freezing Times Square (as did Lionel Richie) and she looked good doing it.
And Seacrest....he was there too.
Happy New Year everyone.
