Eww, Miley Cyrus. Our family tried to watch for a few minutes when Nashville went to commercials. The content was definitely not for a general audience whatsoever. I can't believe Dolly Parton is involved with her!
Nashville's Big Bash on CBS was awesome. Great to see Brooks & Dunn again, Darius Rucker sang some old Hootie songs, and Zac Brown Band was definitely a highlight of the night. Zac looked great.
What little I saw of Rockin' Eve 'on tape' was the same ole' same ole'.
We did our usual 'follow the time zones' tradition - KXAS Lone Star NYE Dallas @ 10, the Potato Drop from KTVB Boise @ 11, and the Space Needle in Seattle (for the first time post-COVID) @ midnight. Which celebration was the best? Dallas. Seattle's fireworks were very hard to see on KING 5 because there was leftover smoke everywhere. Disappointing return to in-person, normal NYE celebrations at the Seattle Center. Like Dallas, they did use drones mixed with the fireworks. But the Reunion Tower celebration was clear, fireworks were great, and the drones were even better - especially seeing the rotary telephone ringing! That was a clever idea by the organizers.
