Did anyone notice Marty Brennaman swearing on air?

Marty's next move is retirement and golf. I don't think he would have any interest in another full-time baseball job.

Am I correct that the story of this incident didn't make the papers?

I didn't see it in Kiesewetter or things like Kiesewetter.

So is it clear at whom the bombs were aimed? at Brantley? at another person in the box??

I heard about this though didn't know the F-bomb made the air. I heard that the person he was arguing with was Rob Butcher and not Brantley from thelotd forums.

Also a note, the XM feed of WLW is pre-delay. For instance the other day on Eddie & Tracey's show on the XM feed a caller said something was bullsh## that aired completly on XM.

As far as Marty goes, he's still one of the top announcers in baseball. I'd rank the LA Dodger's team first, followed by the Reds, then the Brewers (though Bob Eucker did claim that Harrang was not a strike out pitcher). Worse is the Nationals, Cubs, and St. Louis.

"" UPDATE"" Well I went to the game last night (Cin/cleveland) for my birthday and noticed something about the radio broadcast I'd never seen in thirty years,,,,the live broadcast was on about a 30 second delay! It was very irritating listening to this and watching the live play until it dawned on me that it probabily wasn't a mistake??? so I went into the 4192 Club and listened to the live feed: it seemed nearly perfect (maybe a second or 2 off,,,the way it always is).
The live radio has NEVER been delayed that that long! are they keeping an eye on the language?

At least now you know if someone is saying "Well, I just watch the games on tv and listen on the radio." are lying.

No one could stand that delay for more than 15 seconds.

Guy I used to work with told me that if he listened to the games on WONE, the satellite delay made the crack of the bat match the precise time the bat cracked watching the game on TV, while WLW would have it before you saw it on TV (for home games anyway). If they're delaying the radio feed for language now, thats all toast.

Did anyone hear me swearing at Marty during a classic batter-pitcher showdown in the last at bat of game 3 with Cleveland.

I can understand (tolerate) him babbling on with his grandkids during some earlier innings when there's nothing happening, but no. We have to hear some nonsensical baby babbling during pitches while Marty either babbles back or cuts of Brantley mid sentence.

Marty has achieved the intensity of Ken Griffey Jr.

It's really is this simple,,,wether it's the PD trying to head off a Marty (Janet Jackson) moment or a HD Radio tech glitch/necessity, It plainly lessens the broadcast to anyone inside GABP listening to the game! This never was a problem until this year! Previous to this event, the only major problem Marty and Joe had was feedback from the mic Dave Armbruster would drop out of the booth at Riverfront combined with the high volume of a boombox located somewhere in the Blueseats below. Marty would ask (live on the air) whom ever had the radio to turn it down "ever so slightly" and then a few moments later the feedback would go away! Anyone remember this?

In all honesty I am tired and burned out from this thread..especially after Bil O'Reilly's true self displayed for the arrogant hothead tabloid sleazebucket he truly is! (as seen on the You Tube clip from his days at "Inside Editiion." )

Marty:
You are a professional that has been admired over the years and your hot tempered violent profanity-laced Buddy Rich-like tangent for which you have been accused of on this board was inexcusable whether or not it was aired. I am sadly dissapointed you have sunk down to this same level. As for the Reds,it takes much more than a new stadium to bring back the Big Red Machine. Professional sports...like reality TV has become a complete turn-off for me.

I am a huge Marty fan, however what happened in the last inning of Sunday's game was inexcuseable....I dont need to hear his grandkids babble while the game hangs in the balance...I do think someone may need to rein Marty in a little--keep the kids out of the booth and lighten up on the "inside" jokes and remarks. As far as the delay, I am really upset that I can no longer listen to a game while inside the team's very stadium. As far as listening to the game while watching on tv; I am still able to do it with the help of a DVR and some help, especially during home games, via satellite radio...and philrandy, yes I remember very well Marty and Joe asking listeners to please turn down their radios...back then it wasnt odd at all to see fans with radios in the open going full blare--without earphones--in the stands.

What's up with the O'Reilly reference? Dude if you have a problem with O'Reilly's actions in the video in question, you have never worked a day in serious radio in your life. That was off air, and he was clearly having an issue with the equipment. If you had ever worked around big time radio talent, you'd be familiar with the scene from that video.
