Seem's ironic. If RMS just got a new contract, then why would CC be publicly saying the Eagle is completely dispensiable. Maybe they plan on Russ spinning Seals & Crofts, and Captain and Tennille??

105.3 webstream is down
While most of us do agree that 105.3 The Fan is one of the lowest rated stations. I can't see how it will fold too soon. They already got a TV spinoff on TXA 21 in the evenings. They're simulcasting on WJFK-FM 106.7 HD2 in Washington D.C. Not to mention they've just opened up The Fan Sports Bar at Victory Park in Dallas a few months ago.
As I've said before, CBS is bent on having a sports format in a top-five media market and won't pull the plug on The Fan until hell freezes over. It may wind up little else but syndicated programming 24/7 with local updates from personnel on the AM side, but The Fan isn't going anywhere soon.

As much as I'd love competition for The (not edgy at all) Edge, don't count on it from CBS. It seems they're looking to exit the modern rock format, for the most part.

the edge is far edgier now than in past years I think. they seem to leave the shinedowns of the world to the eagle and are focusing more on alt rock. bringing in another alt station to take them on seems foolish. edge is a heritage station with dedicated followers judging by edgefest in the last few years
