Oh yeah, I remember Burt and Kurt, Jim Chick Bill Crews and Dave Perkins. Those were great times to listen to the radio. It just hasn't been the same since the mighty JDX died. A friend back in college had an LP with a bunch of Burt and Kurt bits on it. Including the memorable bit that had Red Wood trying to jump over the Pearl river in a bulldozer. (a reference to Gov. Cliff Finch who was supposed to be the working mans friend, and Evil Kenevils ill fated snake river canyon jump) I remember the whole cast of charactors were at the "live" broadcast from the Byram swinging bridge where it took place. Jay-ree Clower, the senator, Rev. Billy, Mohammad Wah-lee, Gomer Pyle, etc. The station was so popular they named the Orangatangs at the zoo, Red and Fern Wood after the shows charactors, although I'm not sure the orangatangs still living or not, haven't been to the zoo in years. I wish I had taped that record when I heard it, I've never seen another one like it. Does anyone remember seeing that LP? I'd love to hear some of that JDX stuff again.
