Egotistical, arrogant people who work in radio is one of the reasons why I'm glad I don't work in the business anymore.
They act that way, because that is their way of dealing with their little insecurity problem. They think because they work in radio or they are a DJ that it makes them a superstar. Nobody in the Non-Radio world really gives a crap about who these DJ's are and how popular they are. Sorry to burst the bubble of the one's who feel that they are a big shot because they work in radio, but nobody gives a rat's a$$ about who you are and what station you work on. So get over yourself. :
Most of these radio guys who act all egotistical need to get a "Real" career, and they need to quit living in their little fantasy world where they think that they are some huge superstar. Most of the one's who act like that have a brain the size of a pea.
Oh yeah, it takes a really big and tough guy to get behind a microphone, and talk trash on the air. Like I said, it's that person's way of dealing with their little insecurity problem, and taking out their own personal frustrations on other's when it is their own little pathetic life that they are frustrated with.
I don't know how many times I have heard other current and former radio veterans who have been around for the past 20 plus years who have complained about these newer modern day DJ's that are on the air today. Most of these newer guys who work in radio don't even come close to a real air talent such as the late Wolfman Jack. They don't have a clue about what real radio talent is.
They think just clicking a mouse and playing a song on the station's computer and talking a little trash makes them a "Major On Air Talent" in a market. :
