Dinosaurs fight coming extinction

--->We've gone through this before.

And you lost that argument, too.

---->They fit SOME of the definition, but not ALL.

Yeah, they haven't been indicted.

---->cartel |kär?tel| noun an association of manufacturers or suppliers with the purpose of maintaining prices at a high level and restricting competition.

Listen, if you stop bringing up the fact that the NAB and HDRadio lobby is one and ther same group of corporate interests, I'll stop calling them the NABdrunkIBOCcartel.

"We've gone through this before. They fit SOME of the definition, but not ALL. Therefore they are NOT a Cartel, any more than any other trade group is a Cartel."

You will need to prove that statement further - some of us believe, they are a cartel, unless proven totally otherwise. There is no way anyone can compete with IBOC, since the FCC did not consider other technologies that work, such as DRM, that do not have the same technical deficiencies as IBOC.

I lost that one, eh? You have amazing powers! The ability to decide an argument is lost, based solely on your opinion. Amazing!

You can call them whatever you want. Until they are indicted and charged with being a cartel, they are not a cartel. I wouldn't hold your breath for any court cases soon, however.

Well, that's the point. You believe that they are. The burden of proof is on the accuser. Believing something does not make it so. A person is not a criminal until proven beyond a reasonable doubt. That hasn't happened yet, since poeple are using a very loose definition of cartel.

a cartel is a cartel is a cartel, and
this conversation long ago passed the point of productivity.

Thank you, though, for acknowledging my superior powers of logic, deducation, and crimefighting.

Why, is the burden of proof on us - if you have a problem with it, then the burden of proof is on you.

I don't have a problem with it...you can call it anything you want. Seeing as of this moment they have not been convicted or even officially charged with being a cartel, or doing anything else, I really have nothing to prove.

I agree - I believe an all of that as well.

IBOCRocks proclaimed:

anyone is free to compete with IBOC, and anyone can charge whatever they want for the radios.

No they aren't! iBiquity, in its effort to control the entire U.S. digital radio market, has actually paid to have other, possibly superior technologies, NOT developed in this country, or at least not utilized for the same purpose that iBiquity's technology is utilized.

It is like a farmer being paid NOT to grow a crop in order to keep the price of that crop high for the existing suppliers.

Yes, this has happened!

No, I won't "prove" it. It's true regardless of whether or not anyone here believes it.

Of course you won't "prove" it. You can't.

IBOCRocks: "Of course you won't "prove" it. You can't."

iBiquity is part of the HD Radio Cartel - they wrote their own rules for the digital standard in the U.S. - the FCC did not even consider other technologies, because they are all in bed together.

Your opinion.

I say they aren't in bed together. Is your opinion "more right" than mine?

If you have to ask, the answer is probably yes, no matter what you just said.

I see. I didn't realize that I'm not as smart as you guys because I'm not anti-IBOC. My bad.

IBOCRocks: "I say they aren't in bed together. Is your opinion "more right" than mine?"

I never said, that my opinion is "better" than yours.

WOULD YOU PLEASE STOP TRYING TO PICK FIGHTS !
