Discovery, Warner Media merger in the works.

Why pay $6 a month for CNN+ when ABC, CBS, and NBC stream their news channels for free?

CNN+ was conceived as more than a newschannel, in the way that Fox Nation provides more depth. But Fox viewers are more passionate than CNN viewers. If you want to start a streaming service, you need to tap into passion. That's what will drive subscriptions.

I imagine Chris Wallace will move to the 9 pm time slot.

They're saying it will become a straight news show, rather than an opinion show. So yes, Wallace would be a good host, similar to Brian Williams. If so, he will work a lot harder than he has in years.

The CNN+ shutdown comes on the heels of the audience loss reported at Netflix. Obviously consumers are becoming a lot more selective in their video streaming choices.

yeah, what was the point when it could had just been HBO Max exclusive content.
Thats What I was thinking given that WarnerMedia has been putting more attention to HBO Max app. I could see some of the CNN+ Content moving to CNN TV itself or go to HBO Max. Its just like when NBC News and MSNBC will put some of its content on Peacock or CBS News and CBS O&O's will put some of its content between the CBS News app and Paramount + or ABC News having some of their content on ABC News app and Hulu.

Here is something to expect in 2022 part of this is in relation to Warner Media releasing movies to Cinemark.
This article is from last year.

More people are out at Warner Discovery due to merger.

Kristin Brown, Jennifer Driscoll, Larry Laque and Doug Seybert are also out have joined the growing list of executives leaving Warner Bros Discovery as part of the company’s post-merger streamlining, TheWrap has learned.

Their ouster comes less than 2 hours after it was made public that executive vice president Corie Henson and Food Network executive Todd Weiser have left.

Brown was a senior vice president of communications at Investigation Discovery and Travel Channel. Driscoll was a senior vice president of communications at the company, and first joined Discovery in 2015. Laque joined Discovery in 2003 and at the time of his exit was co-chief information officer and executive vice president in facilities and real estate. And Seybert, senior vice president of marketing, joined Discovery in 2009.

Two more executives are departing Warner Bros. Discovery.

Todd Weiser and Corie Henson are leaving their respective roles.

Henson served as executive vp, head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT and truTV. She led and oversaw unscripted creative development and production for all three cable brands after joining WarnerMedia in December 2019.

Henson oversaw competition shows such as TBS’ The Cube and Wipeout, TNT’s Shaq Life and truTV’s Big Trick Energy.

Add the under 800K viewers for AEW Dynamite last Wednesday and Discovery is looking not to renew their TV deal next year

there was a major hockey game, it's called the Stanley Cup Finals, also not to mentions parts of the nation was dealing with power outages brought on by the on going heat wave. but also the ratings took a hit for a build to a PPV featuring wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling which the AEW viewers who aren't die hard pro wrestling fans don't know who the wrestlers are, CM Punk got hurt a few days after winning the AEW World title and needed foot surgery, Jeff hardy got arrest Monday for a DUI and he just signed with AEW not to long ago after WWE released from for possible drug/alcohol issues, the injury bug is biting wrestling hard not just AEW, and the whole MJF controversy (google it up to get a explanation cause i'm not gonna explain it) . and many diehard wrestling fans were a little distracted over the news of the Vince McMahon sexual misconduct/hush money scandal. if AEW ratings keep going down, it might hurt them, but i don't see WBD kicking AEW to the curb unless someone's hate it like the executives who came in during the AOTimeWarner era hate it like they did with WCW and they actually owned it, AEW is not even owned by them, so if they leave, it won't kill the company cause they could get a new home on a different network or streaming platform
