Does anyone know why wlrs is lettiing jocks go right and left?

And to oldies cat the one station that has been on top for 25+ years and still kicking it is WDVE Pittsburgh.

Just my two cents

WDVE has been great for a very long time, no doubt about it. But not in the #1 perch they're currently in that whole time (which doesn't take away from their success at all).

And then there were two!

LRS just fired another jock. The night guy Nubbins was let go today and he was really the only talented one left. Someone put that station out of its misery. With Skinny J and Big Joe as the two remaining jocks, Radio One or Mainline obviously couldn't care less about that station anyway.

They are going to let it die on the vine like they did the Eagle 104. Started out with a great idea, I had a lot of feedback on the oldies country with people listening and liking it, but when you don't promote it and you don't "feed" the format. it dies. That's pretty much what they are going to allow to happen to WLRS.

Interesting enough, Radio One is keeping the Charlestown signal. The 104 signal isn't in the deal to Main Line.

The more things change the more they stay the same.I bet they are going to do what they did to wlrs in 1999 when it was on 102.3 after lrs fest i bet they will blow it up and rightfully so it really is a badly programmed rock station.Such an embarrasment for louisville. Not only the music but the on air talent. What were they thinking???Shame on you radio one!!!And puddle of mud and drowning pool for lrs fest cmon guys 2001 was six years ago!!!

No you know what is a badly programmed rock station? WHQG 102-9 The Hog. What the hell are they trying to do with that rock/classic format? It's crap I tell ya! Part of why my market's that crappy! I wanted to listen to WLRS a couple nights ago and instead had to settle for The Brew, one of the few good programmed stations in the market but it wasn't new rock. The active rock stations here in Milwaukee STINK!

Don't cuss out WLRS either! I'm a VERY big fan! Oh and folks, I don't log on this site very much. So when I do I do a lot of catching up and replying to things going on - all sorts of different areas here. That's why you see a lot of replies from me.

I emailed WLRS telling them not to flip until I have the chance to hear it. They are not allowed to flip until I, the master radio listener has heard them.

Why doesn's radio one see the writing on the wall and flip wlrs once and for all and let it die forever!!!It just makes no sense to keep a station that makes no money!!!I guarantee that this stuff will keep happening to wlrs this station will never find its way again until it flips no ifs ands or buts!!!

Re: And then there were two!

So they keep firing people on a station that's never streamed for others to hear? How sad and unreal....

I think Radio One was using some ill-advised consultants for the Louisville cluster. They just don't know what they're doing. And they're arrogant about it too!

LRS could use a REAL MORNING SHOW, not just a more music morning show with one deejay.

LRSFEST is the best show in Louisville.

Good, that's when I'll go to KY. When LRS Fest is on next year. And I'll stay til well past closing time becuz I'm the biggest fan. All you people talking about stations I have never heard before or ever streamed either is really getting to me.
